dc.description.abstractPreparation of polyurethane composite with rice husk filler as heat insulation material has been done. Polyurethanes are used is a synthesis of polypropylene glycol as a source of polyols and toluene diisocyanate as isocyanate with a comparison between polypropylene glycol and toluene diisocyanate is 1: 2. Rice husks used varied with variations from 0% to 30%. Characterisation of polyurethane foam covers the determination of functional groups, density, thermal conductivity, surface observation using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and thermal resistance using Thermogravimetry Analysis (TGA). With the addition of rice husk at 10% showed an increase in the mechanical properties of the polyurethane foam increased modulus value of 0424 MPa and a .fracture into the modulus of elasticity becomes 11.586 MPa. From the surface of the test also showed that the addition of rice husk to produce polyurethane foams with pore sizes smaller and more evenly spread of pores. Likewise with thermal resilience with residual 26.83%.en_US
