dc.description.abstractHypnotherapy is a therapy that uses hypnosis as a means to reach the subconscious mind to give suggestions to overcome the problem of thoughts, feelings and behavior. The purpose of Hypnotherapy in this research is to address issues of public speaking anxiety. This study used quantitative and qualitative approach with randomized pretest and posttest control group design and aims to examine the effectiveness of hypnotherapy in reducing public speaking anxiety among adolescent at islamic boarding school. The numbers of Subject were 36 adolescents, and divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. Data collected by using public speaking anxiety scale. Quantitative data were analyzed using non-parametric statistical analysis Mann-Whitney. The result showed hypnotherapy was effectively in reducing public speaking anxiety among adolescent at islamic boarding school. Based on the results of qualitative analysis it showed that positive changes in subjects of experimental group when they faced to public speaking situations, the biological symptoms can be controlled so that the heart beating normally, irregular breath, feet and hands warm and trembling, thought became more positive, more adaptive behavior, and better mood.en_US
