Abstract

In our daily life, of course, we cannot be separated from emotions. Emotions felt by humans are generally able to influence behavior. This study discusses the classification of the main character's basic emotions in the film Ocean Heaven by Xue XiaoLu. This study aims to classify the main character's basic emotions, and to find out the effect of these basic emotions on the main character's behavior in Ocean Heaven. A descriptive qualitative method is the method used in this study. While the theory used in this study is the basic emotion classification theory of David Krech. The results of this study found eighteen basic emotions of the main character consisting of three happy emotion data, three angry emotion data, eight fear emotion data, and four sad emotion data, along with nine descriptions of the effects of these emotions on the main character's behavior, namely one effect happy emotion, two angry emotion effects, five fear emotion effects, and one sad emotion effect. The emotion of fear is the dominant emotion shown by the main character in the film Ocean Heaven.
