    Studi Komparatif Pemanfaatan Database E- Journal Westlaw oleh Mahasiswa Pascasarjana Magister Ilmu Hukum dan Doktor Ilmu Hukum Universitas Sumatera Utara

    Abstract
    The objective of this research is to determine the utilization of the Westlaw e- Journal database by Postgraduate students of the Master of Jurisprudence and Doctor of Jurisprudence at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. The research uses o descriptive comparative method. The sample is determined by a simple random sampling technique. The research sample is 134 people where 82 are from Postgraduate Masters of Jurisprudence students and 52 are from Doctor of Jurisprudence students. Data collection techniques are in the form of questionnaires and literature studies. There are 13 Indicators in this research put forward by Qasim and Khan which include the frequency of visiting library website access, the frequency of using e-journals, the use of open access Journals, the location of access, how to read e-journals, awareness of e-journal consorzia, the purpose of utilizing e-journals, use of search strategies, preferred online file formats, problems using e-journals, level of satisfaction using e-journals, awareness of Current Awareness Service (CAS) Selective Dissemination of Information (SDD) services, utilization of e-journals compared to printed journals. The results show that 47,6% of Master of Jurisprudence students access it once every two weeks, while 63.5% of Doctor of Jurisprudence students rarely access the Westlaw e-journal. The frequency of using the Westlaw e-journal is $6.1% of Master of Jurisprudence students using the Westlaw e-journal once every two weeks, while 61.5% of Doctor of Jurisprudence students rarely utilize the Westlaw e-journal. 57.3% of Master of Jurisprudence students utilize keywords as a search strategy in searching for the Westlaw e-journal, while $1.9% of Doctor of Jurisprudence students utilize a search strategy based on the journal title The thing that is still not optimal with regard to e-journal services at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library lies in the need for training of 90.2% of Masters of Jurisprudence students and 96.2% of Doctor of Jurisprudence students respectively to use and utilize the Westlaw e-journal. The research results conclude that utilization of the Westlaw e-journal is more often occupied by Master of Jurisprudence students than Doctor of Jurisprudence students
