Morfologi dan Pertumbuhan Ikan Layang (Decapterus macarellus) di TPI Tanjung Beringin Kecamatan Tanjung Beringin Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai
Abstract
The role of flying catfish (Decapterus macarellus) is quite large in fisheries both in economic and ecological aspects, it is necessary to have good management of fishery resources so that their sustainability can be maintained. So far, research on the morphology and growth of flying catfish (D. macarellus) at the Tanjung Beringin Fish Auction Site (TPI), Serdang Bedagai Regency, especially the morphometric-meristic aspect and length-weight relationship, has not been carried out. This research was conducted from July to September 2022 at TPI Tanjung Beringin Serdang Bedagai. The purpose of this study was to determine the morphology and growth of flying fish (Decapterus macarellus). The method used in this research is purposive random sampling method. The results of this study are that the morphometrics of flying catfish (Decapterus macarellus) landed at TPI Tanjung Beringin have morphometric characters with the shape of the upper jaw and the back which is concave at the top and circular at the bottom. The growth of the flying fish landed at TPI Tanjung Beringin was negative allometric with a b value of 2.51 and less flattened body shape with an Fk value of around 0.45 - 1.25. The level of maturity of the gonads of flying catfish was found to be dominant at TKG I-II and the IKG value was directly proportional to TKG and the peak of spawning occurred in September
