Fixed orthodontic treatment used in dentistry aims to improve masticatory function and esthetics. The use of fixed orthodontic appliances in orthodontic treatment requires a bonding material to attach the bracket as a passive component of the fixed orthodontic appliance to the tooth surface. The types of bonding materials used are light cured composite resin, chemical cured composite resin, glass ionomer cement (GIC), and resin modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC). The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of use of the type of bonding most often used by orthodontists in Indonesia. This research was a descriptive research in the form of a questionnaire which was sent to 71 orthodontists recorded in the 2007 IKORTI database. Respondents were selected using the proportional sampling method. The questionnaire link was sent online via WhatsApp to the respondents. The majority of orthodontists in Indonesia with a total of 84.5% use light cured composite resin, while 14.1% use chemical cure composite resin, and orthodontists use GIC as much as 1.4%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that more orthodontists in Indonesia use light cure composite resin bonding in orthodontic treatment.en_US
