    Abstract
All this time , salak seeds have only been wasted and are not used properly, so that salak seeds have a great potential to be used. Salak coffee beans contain antioxidants that will provide more value to agricultural products. Initially, the process of grinding salak seeds still used the traditional method of using mortar, but now people are starting to use burr mills to grind seeds. However, the use of burr mill-type salak seed grinder still has disadvantages and needs to be further developed. The development of the salak seed (Salacca zalacca) grinder with the addition of the salak seed breaker, has the aim of improving the work efficiency of the tool from previous studies, also conducting tool testing, analyzing the economic aspects of the tool such as non-fixed costs, fixed costs and break even points (BEP). In the manufacture of this tool, there are functional parts consisting of a combustion motor, a breaking roller, a straight wheel gear, a roll chain and sprocket, and a gearbox. Also in the making of this tool, there is a structural design consisting of a tool frame and a breaker chamber. This research had several parameters which were the basis of this study. The results showed that the average effective capacity of the tool, the percentage of seeds left behind, the consumption of electrical power was 12.426 kg/hour, 8.33%, 19.42 kWh, respectively. The fixed costs were IDR 942,400/year, non-fixed costs were IDR 489,845.88 and the break even point was 1,660.68 kg/year
