The aim of this research is to use flies larva reproduced on palm oil factory sludge as a component in ration (feed) on broiler performance after measuring the protein content. The broiler performance measured are feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion. The larva used in this research is of 2-3 weeks of age. This research is conducted The Split-Split-Plot Design with two replications. Treatments appliead are two strains of broiler chickens as the main plot (A1 and A2); period at feeding time in weeks as time factor (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6) as sub-plot treatment; and concentration of flies larva (L0 = 0%, L1 = 5%, L2 = 10%, and L3 = 15 % as sub-subplot treatment (L0 uses 10% fish flour instead of flies larva as the animal protein). The analysis shows that the larva contains crude protein (36,51%), crude fat (28,12%) crude fibre (8,36%0, water (7,78%), total solid matter (34,76%), ash (9,34%), calcium (1,52%), fosfor (0,83%) and energy metabolism (4720,59% k kal/kg). The result of this research indicate that time factor, the larva concentration (L) and interaction between time factor with the larva concentration are significance (P=0,05) on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion, while the differences of chicken strain does not give any effect. Of the three feed composition containing larva it is not found that L2 (10% larva) is revealed to be the best, which is comparable with L0 (10% fish flour) as they give the same values of observed parameters. The result of this research also indicate that the longer period of feeding the higher the feed conversion while the best performance given by feed composition containing larva of 10% as shows with smallest feed conversion. It can be concluded that flies larva that reproduced on palm oil factory sludge has high protein content. The use of 10% dried larva in feed broiler chicken is good as protein and energy sources.en_US
