Miristyl alcohol with SO3-DMF has been synthesized through the sulfation reaction between myristyl alcohol and SO3 produced from the reaction of P4O10 and H2SO4 and also using DMF. Sulfation of myristyl alcohol with SO3-DMF was carried out by mixing 0.05 mol myristyl alcohol (10.7 g) into the resulting SO3-DMF complex using sulfation temperature variations of 80oC, 90oC and 100oC carried out for 2 hours resulting in yields of 56,5%; 46,0%; 45,7%. The results of sulfation of myristyl alcohol with SO3-DMF were tested by FTIR spectroscopy analysis, surface tension test with Du-Nouy Ring Tensiometer tool, and foam stability test with Vortex tool. The results of FTIR analysis showed the formation of sulfate groups (S-O) at wave numbers 1215.1 cm-1; 1028.7 cm-1; 989.1 cm-1; and 969.1 cm-1. Surface tension test obtained values of 30.2; 27.3; and 27.9 dyne/cm. Foam stability test obtained values of 0.5; 0.2; 0.1 cm
