Berth is a place for the ship to moor and do stevedooring activity and also for embarkation - debarkation passenger. When the ship moor to berth it will generate impact between ship and berth, so that will develope dynamic response to the berth. The principal that must be understood in this case is the consequence of impact, both ship and berth need to be protected from the damage causing the impact. In accordance with it, every construction of berth should be provided with fender as absorber of ship's impact and the remains energy will be reduced by the berth construction. The result of calculation and analysis is showing that the fender is very useful to reduce the ship's impact energy when the ship mooring to berth. At international berth in Belawan Container Terminal Unit, the ability of fender to reduce the impact is obtained to 79 ,99%. The biggest dynamic response happen when the ship is mooring in tip of berth. Age of berth which has reached more than 23 years old has increased the berth dynamic response, this indicate the berth's condition is going to degradation.en_US
