PT PLN Proyek Induk Pembangkit and Jaringan Sumatera (Jtara, Aceh dan
Riau (PT PLN PIKITRING SUAR) is a business unit in PT PLN (PLN Inc.) with its
core business being a building power plant, Sub Station and Electrical Transmission
in North Sumatera, Aceh and Rtau region. PT PLN PIKITRNG SUAR conducts
effective training sessions based on what is needed by their employees in order to
improve their working performance. The problems discussed in this study are: (l)
How big is the impact of the training sessions on the employees' performance. (2)
Hotu significant do the employees personal characteristics influence the training and
education acquisition
The theories applied in this study included those related to human resources
particularly about education and training and theories about organizational
behavtor.
This study applied o survey approach v,hereas the type of the study was
descriptive and quantitattve. The feature of this study is explanatory. The sample was
54 oficers who are at the same level of functional V. Simple Linear Regression
analysis was applted to test the first hypothesis and Multiple Linear Regression
analysis was applied to test the second hypothests with a confidence tevet of 95
percent.
The analytical results on the first hypothesis prove that education and
training make a significant effect on the job performance. The analytical results on
the second prove that age, working period and level of education significantly
inJluence the ability to grasp the education and the training given. Furthermore it
was shown that the level of education is the most influential factor.
The conclustons of this study are: (l) Training and education are very
influence in increasing job performance. (2) Individual characteristics such as age,
working period and level of education significantly influence the ability to grasp the
education and the training given by the company, and the most influential factor ts
the.level of education.
