Analisis Tingkat Keramahan Alat Tangkap Pukat Cincin (Purse Seine) terhadap Hasil Tangkapan Ikan Layang (Decapterus Spp.) di Perairan Belawan Sumatera Utara

Abstract

There is a lot of fishing in Belawan waters, especially scads (Decapterus spp) regardless of the friendliness of purse seine fishing gear, which is feared to damage existing fish resources, so it is necessary to conduct research on the the eco-friendly of purse seine fishing gear in Belawan. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition and proportion of main and by-catch catches and to determine the level of environmental eco-friendly of purse seine fishing gear in Belawan waters. The primary data taken was a sample of 138 (Decapterus spp) and the composition of the results of purse seine fishing gear taken from 3 trip 3 purse seine vessels. The catch composition results obtained 13 types of fish, the total proportion of main catch fish based on weight was 68% included in the eco-friendly category, the total proportion of by-catch utilized was 100% included in the eco-friendly friendly category, and the total proportion of main catch fish worthy of catching was 47% fall into the category of non eco-freindly.
