dc.description.abstract | Shoreline changes in Percut Sei Tuan, such as abrasion and accretion, must be understood in order to detect coastal damage. Shoreline changes are influenced by hydro-oceanographic factors such as wind, waves, tides, and sea currents. This study aims to analyze the rate of shoreline changes and find out the hydro-oceanographic conditions in Percut Sei Tuan. This study mapped shoreline changes over the 2011–2021 period using Landsat, and the rate of shoreline changes was counted using Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) tools. The results revealed that the rate of abrasion is 0.06-40.90 meters/year and the rate of accretion is 0.03-40.14 meters/year. Percut Sei Tuan’s shoreline is generally more dominated by abrasion than accretion. Along with the shoreline changes, this study also showed the wind speed in Percut Sei Tuan sea is 0.50–11.10 m/s, the wave height is 0.01-0.21 meters, the type of tide is semi-diurnal, and the average current sea speed is 0.09–0.27 m/s. | en_US |
