Analisis Faktor–Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Prevalensi Nematoda pada Feses Sapi Potong di Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa
Abstract
This study aims to identify the type, number of nematode worm eggs and the prevalence rate of nematodes and to determine the factors that influence the prevalence of nematodes in the feces of beef cattle in Tanjung District. The research method used was direct interviews with farmers assisted by questionnaires and examination of 89 samples of beef cattle faeces at the Parasitology Laboratory of the Medan Veterinary Center. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling technique. The research samples were Dalu X A Village, Bangun Rejo Village, Dalu X B Village in Tanjung District with the variables of maintenance system, deworming, cage sanitation, forage collection time, age of cattle, breed of cattle and sex. Based on the examination results, 43 positive samples were obtained with a prevalence of 48.31% (generally) and the infestation rate of eggs per gram of feces (TPGF) was in the low to moderate category, with an average of 200-700 eggs (TPGF). The types of nematode worm eggs found were Bunostomum sp., Capillaria sp., Cooperia sp., Eimeria sp., Oesophagostomum sp., Trichuris sp. The most worm eggs are in the type of Eimeria sp. Factors that influence the prevalence and infestation of eggs per gram of feces (TPGF) are rearing systems, deworming, cage sanitation and forage collection time.
