dc.description.abstract | North Labuhanbatu Regency is one of the regencies in North Sumatra Province that has the potential to develop the livestock and agriculture sector. This study aims to determine the potential of oil palm plantation waste and the area that can be used as a beef cattle development area in North Labuhanbatu Regency. This research was conducted in North Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province in August-September 2022. The type of research used is descriptive research to describe the potential of agricultural and plantation waste in determining the area of beef cattle development using the LQ method combined with livestock area density, index carrying capacity of waste, capacity to increase the population of ruminants and SWOT analysis.
The results showed that North Labuhanbatu Regency has development potential in supporting North Sumatra Province as a producer of beef cattle. The strategic group for region I (spreading area) is Marbau, Aek Kuo, and South Kualuh sub-districts. Regional strategy group II (consolidation area) is Na IX-X, Aek Kuo, South Kualuh, and Kualuh Hulu. Region III strategy group (supporting area) is Marbau District. One of the alternative strategies for utilizing oil palm plantation waste in the development of beef cattle is an integration system in the context of utilizing agricultural and plantation waste as a source of animal feed in North Labuhanbatu Regency. | en_US |
