    Abstract
    Chili plants are horticultural crops that are widely cultivated by farmers in Indonesia. Chili planting is done by seeding first. To meet the needs of farmers, the role of the community and government is needed to increase chili productivity by utilizing more efficient agricultural technology users, using a mechanical chili seed separator. The use of this tool can make separation easier to make it more efficient, because in general farmers still use the traditional method, namely by separating the selected chilies from their meat by cutting the chilies and separating the chili seeds. This tool is designed with a blade and a seed sieve, the size of the blade is 8 cm high and 2.8 mm thick for the seed sieve, the hole size is 5 mm. the results show that the average effective capacity of the tool is 364,100 kg/hour. The average value of separated meat during the rolling process was 84.5%, unsplitted meat was 1.73%, meat left in the mill was 2.36%, and whole seeds were 9.03%. This chili seed separator will reach its breakeven point or BEP if it has separated Rp. 6.796,78/year of chili seeds, and meets the criteria for use or is profitable because the resulting NPV value is > 0, which is Rp. 1.236.694.743.09,-/year at an interest rate of 6% and 1.164.313.479,312/year at an interest rate of 10%. With the IRR on this tool is 78,32%.
