dc.description.abstractA morphosyntactic contrastive study of the Arabic and Indonesian can give a significant contribution to the teaching and leaming process of Arabic language in Indonesian. The problems investigated in this thesis are the correspondences and differences in Arabic and Indonesian personal pronoun based on morphosyntactic. The method used in this research was descriptive and contrastive. The analysis has identified several correspondences and differences of the Arabic and Indonesian personal pronoun. Correspondences of the Arabic and Indonesian are correspondent in their classification, distribution, and function. They classify the pronoun based on number, dependent and independent pronoun, and both has dependent pronoun ‘which has function as object. While the differences, The Arabic has a great number in comparison with the Indonesian personal pronoun, nevertheless; there is more than one personal pronoun can be used in Indonesian language for cach subject. Meanwhile, in the Arabic the subject is commonly represented by one personal pronoun. And the use of tense will change its pronoun. On the other hand, tense is not present in the Indonesian. In relation to gender, the Arabic has distinguished pronoun between masculine (muzakkar) and feminine (mu‘annas).en_US
