| dc.description.abstract | Mangroves are coastal forest ecosystems that are often damaged,
generally due to changes in land use and illegal logging. This study aims to
determine the spatial characteristics of deforestation based on the parameters of
distance from rivers, distance from roads, distance from settlements and distance
from rice fields and the value of changes in biomass content from deforestation of
mangrove ecosystems in Lubuk Kertang Village. This research was conducted
from December 2021 to September 2022. Based on the results of the research, the
average distance to the nearest deforestation area was measured by the distance
from the road parameter of 16.97 m and the distance from the river 50.58 m. The
results of land cover classification from SPOT 6 satellite imagery show 8 types of
land cover, namely deforestation, water bodies, mangroves, paddy fields, oil
palm, roads, open land and settlements. In accordance with the conditions in the
field with deforestation that occurred in the planting year 2009, 2010 and 2012
area of 26.5 ha. Biomass loss was measured in the area of planting in 2009, 2010
and 2012 with a total of 2,895.42 tonnes. The results showed that the parameters
of the distance from the river and the distance from the road had a spatial effect
on mangrove deforestation in Lubuk Kertang Village and there was a large loss of
