Tropical forests have biodiversity consisting of flora and fauna. Especially from
the types of plants that contain toxins and some contain drugs. Plants that have
poison have special characteristics such as the scent they carry. This study aims
to identify plant species, analyze plant diversity, and analyze secondary
metabolites of plant species in the Community Forest of Lau Njuhar Village,
Tanah Pinem District, Dairi Regency. The method used is the aspect of local
knowledge, the aspect of diversity with the method of Vegetation Analysis and
phytochemical tests. The final results carried out in the Community Forest of Lau
Njuhar Village found 9 types of poisonous plants. These types are Birah
(Alocasia arifolia Hallier f), Langge (Homalomena propinqua Ridl.), Latong
Manok (Laportea interrupta L. Chew), Latong Mbelkih (Litsea grandis (Wall. Ex
Ness) Hook. fil.), Latong Ndiru (Dendrocnide stimulant), Salempayoh
(Homalomena rubescens (Roxb.) Kunth) , Sukat(Xanthosoma sagittifolium L.),
Tabar-Tabar (Costus speciosus) and Tubung (Amorphophallus spp). Alkaloid
compounds contained in the plant species Birah, Latong Manok, Latong Mbelkih,
Latong Ndiru, Salempayoh, Tabar-tabar. Flavonoids contained in plant species
Langge, Latong Manok, Latong Mbelkih, Latong, Salempayoh, Sukat, Tabar Tabar. Terpenes contained in the plant species Birah, Latong Mbelkih, Latong
Ndiru, Salempayoh and Tabar-Tabar. Steroid compounds contained in plant
species Langge, Latong Manok, Latong Mbelkih, Latong Ndiru, Salempayoh,
Sukat, Tabar-Tabar and Tubung. Saponins contained in Langge, Salempayoh,
Tabar-tabar and Tubung plant species. While the tannin compounds contained in
the plant species Birah, Latong, Salempayoh, Sukat and Tubung.
