| dc.description.abstract | Planting this type of MPTS is one solution because the strategy in
managing land known as Multy Purpose Tree Species (MPTS) involves planting
and maintenance. One of the MPTS plants is Avocado (Persea americana). Plant
growth is influenced by two factors, namely internal factors and external factors.
External factors for plants include water and husk charcoal. If sufficient
groundwater is available, the addition of fertilizer will increase water efficiency.
Charcoal husks can be used as materials for improving soil properties (improving
soil quality) in improving land and increasing crop yields. The purpose of this
research is to obtain the composition of the use of rice husk charcoal as a
planting medium and the watering interval on the growth of avocado seedlings
(Persea americana). The method used in this study used a completely randomized
factorial design with 2 factors, namely the dose of rice husk charcoal and (0%,
25%, 50%, 75%) and watering (once a day, once in two days, once in 3 days, 4
days once) so that there were 16 treatments with 3 replications. The research
procedures carried out were making husk charcoal, preparing media, preparing
seeds. The parameters measured were height gain, diameter increase, number of
leaves, upper wet weight and dry weight, and lower wet weight and dry weight in
avocado seeds (Persea americana). The results of this study, namely the use of
rice husk charcoal and watering intervals showed significant results on the
parameters of height, upper wet weight and lower wet weight, namely the
composition of rice husk charcoal 75% with 25% marginal soil and watering once
a day so as to provide optimal results. on the growth of avocado seedlings
(Persea americana) during 3 months of observation. | en_US |
