dc.description.abstractPlants are used by the Karo people in various traditional ceremonies, as well as for food, medicine, and industrial purposes. Traditional medicine for various diseases is well known to the Karo people. The purpose of this research was to obtain local knowledge about the use of herbal plants used by the Karo tribe in Ujung Deleng Village. As well as identifying parts of medicinal plants used by the Karo tribe in Ujung Deleng Village. The three stages of the research method are interviews, collection of medicinal plant specimens, and literature review. The results of research conducted in Ujung Deleng Village are the local wisdom of the Karo tribe which uses four parts of plants, namely leaves, rhizomes, fruit and roots. There are 14 types of medicinal plants in Ujung Deleng Village which are divided into 11 families. Cepcepan (Macaranga denticulata), Katubini (Bridelia glauca), and Taritik/Patikan Kebo (Euphorbia hirta) are members of the Euphorbiaceae family.en_US
