Research of the abundance of prey for the sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) in
PT. Toba Pulp Lestari. Tbk Sector Aek Nauli Using Camera Trap, was conducted from
July 2022 until October 2022. The research was using installation camera trap method
and also direct observation. The camera trap installation consists of 4 mounting points
which are divided into 2 grids of 17x17 kilometers, where each grid has a different
observation time, on grid 1 the observation are made 90 days on the grid 2 the
observation are made for 45 days. Each grid also consists of 2 points and each point
consist of 2 camera trap. The results obtained from the installation of camera trap are that
there are 9 types of prey animals namely wild boar, deer, monkey, pangolin, monitor
lizard, honey bear, prionodon linsang, sumatran binturong and tree mouse. In direct
observation the results obtained were as many 5 types of animals namely rhinoceros
hornbill, gibbon, jelarang, sumatran sempidan and otter. The reseach was conducted as
a conservation effort and to prevent conflict between the community and workers in the
area of PT.Toba Pulp Lestari. Tbk with predatory animals such as the sumatran tiger.
With appeal to reduce poaching activitiesin forest areas.
