| dc.description.abstract | Human comes with their unlimited needs. In order to meet that unlimited human
needs, limited land must be converted into plantation and agricultural land. This
transfer of function is certainly not free from problems, where the majority of land
use changes have a negative impact on conservation aspects which lead to an
increase in the number of critical lands in Indonesia. The problems caused by the
conversion of land use can be overcome with an agroforestry system that
combines forestry plants with agricultural crops as a form of land management.
This study aims to compare the productivity between coffee with agroforestry
system and coffee with non-agroforestry system, to determine patterns and
distribution of agroforestry land, to determine the role of agroforestry systems to
coffee production, and to determine the role of communities in implementing
coffee agroforestry systems. This research was conducted in Aek Sabaon Village,
Marancar District, South Tapanuli Regency using quantitative methods
(questionnaires and documentation studies). The results showed the applied
agroforestry system is proven to be able to increase annual coffee productivity.
The application of the agroforestry system is also extended to farmers by people
who already understand the agroforestry system. The aspect that needs to be
improved is the managing of agroforestry system to increase the economic value
of coffee farmers. | en_US |
