Marginal land can be used with an ecosystem approach strategy through
improvement of soil fertility. Avocado Plant (Persea americana Mill.). is a profitable
plant to grow. Avocado is a fruit that is in great demand by the public because the
taste of the fruit is delicious and delicious. The purpose of this study was to obtain
the appropriate dose of EM 4 and manure for the growth of avocado (Persea
americana Mill.) plants in the marginal land of South Harbor. This research was
conducted at the Aek Raso Nature Park (Elephant Training Center) Aek Raso
Village, Torgamba District, Labuhan Batu Selatan Regency and was carried out in
July October 2022. Using a Completely Randomized Factorial Design with 2 factors,
namely the dose of manure (0 g, 500 g, 1000 g) and EM4 (0 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 ml)
so that 48 treatments were obtained with 4 replications. The results showed that the
interaction between the EM4 treatment and manure on the parameters of plant
diameter, number of leaves, and fresh weight of the upper part of the plant had a
significant effect on avocado plants and had no significant effect on the parameters
of plant height, dry weight of the upper part of the plant, fresh weight of the lower
part of the plant and the dry weight of the lower part of the plant. D3K1 treatment,
namely 30 ml EM 4 dose and 500 g manure dose, gave optimal results on the growth
