dc.description.abstract | Economic problems are multidimensional problems, the state of the
country that is experiencing various kinds of problems (contradictions) in
economic, social, cultural, political and so on. The problem discussed in this
study is how the socio-economic conditions of housewives who collect palm oil in
Gambir Baru Village, are seen through indicators of income, education,
employment and meeting family needs. The method used in this research is
descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The main informants in
this study were 5 women picking loose fruit, assisted by key informants and
additional informants. The results of the research and analysis of the data can be
concluded that the income earned by housewives is classified as medium-high, in
terms of education none of the informants received education up to the tertiary
level, most of them only graduated from junior high or high school. In terms of
work, housewives who pick up loose ends fall into the medium category, namely
services and sales. In meeting family needs, housewives can meet primary and
secondary needs, but not tertiary needs because it is not a priority thing that is
