Drug Problem are no longer a stranger thing to society. Victims of drugs
have even spread to all levels of society from children to adults. Thisis due to the
ease with which these items are obtained and lack of self-awareness of the dangers
effects of these drugs. This led to the emergence of rehabilitations that were built
and conselors to deal with drug abusers to restore their standard of living.
However, people who have passed the rehabilitation period can still relapse.
Therefore, there are certain programs that are useful for preventing these drugs
abusers called relapse prevention. this study intends to find out what roles
counselors use in providing relapse prevention program for drugs abusers. This
research is located at Al-Kamal Sibolangit Centre, and uses a qualitative research
with a descriptive type. The number of informationts who were the subject of this
study was 5, namely 1 key informant who was a program manager, 3 main
informants who were counselors, and I client at the Sibolangit centre who served
as additional informants. The research data were obtained through interviews,
observation, and documentation. The results of this study concluded that counselors
in carrying out the relapse prevention program have roles as Family Counselor,
Consultant, Case Manager, Mediator, Administrator, Supervisor, Advocacy,
Facilitator, Broker, Liaison, Conferee
