dc.description.abstract | In the course of Indonesia's general elections, there have always been problems with
voter lists, which have resulted in elections colored by problems concerning people's voting
rights. To overcome this problem, the General Election Commission made a breakthrough in
the preparation of the voter list from manual switching to technology, namely using the Sidalih
application. Although Sidalih was used in the last few general elections, there are still problems
with the voter list, especially in North Sumatra, which presents the DPT with the 4th highest
rank in Indonesia, while the population is only ranked lower, making the background of this
research.
The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method by conducting in depth interviews and document observation. Sidalih utilization is studied using Democracy
theory, Human Rights theory, and Election theory.
The results of this study are that the North Sumatra Provincial Election Commission
carried out several activities in developing the preparation of voter lists for elections, including
conducting studies of legislation, developing sidalih technology, creating sidarlih, cooperating
with stakeholders, improving internal performance, and conducting socialization | en_US |
