Employee performance is an employee's ability to carry out all the tasks that
are his responsibility. These tasks are usually based on the position and position
held by the employee. An employee is required to be able to provide maximum
performance so that the company where he works gets a positive effect from the
performance shown by the employee. One of the things that affect employee
performance is compensation, compensation is an important function in human
resource management. Employees will be very motivated to work hard if they get
compensation properly and smoothly according to the work they do because
compensation is one of the goals that people who work want to achieve. The
purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of compensation on employee
performance at the Office of Public Works and Spatial Planning in Langkat
Regency.
The research method used in this research is associative research with a
quantitative approach. The population in this study were Civil Servants of the
Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Langkat Regency, totaling 104 people,
while the sample in this study was 51 Civil Servants who worked at the Public
Works and Spatial Planning Office of Langkat Regency. The data collection
technique in this study used a questionnaire and data analysis was carried out using
SEM (Structural Equation Modeling), which was operated through the PLS 3.0
program.
The results of the study obtained the results of path analysis of 0.494 and
the results of hypothesis testing obtained the result that the t-count value was 5.231
and the t-table value was 1.676, thus t-count> t-table, namely 5.231> 1.676 and a
significance value of 0.000. Based on these results it can be concluded that
compensation has a positive influence on employee performance at the Public
Works and Spatial Planning Office of Langkat Regency.
