dc.description.abstractOne of the factors that influence the design of the cycle of adsorption of a cooling machine is an ideal comparison between adsorbent and refrigerant. In this experiment, the use of activated alumina as adsorbent is 1 kg. Refrigerant that is used is methanol, ethanol, ammonia, and musicool. Adsorption capacity testing equipment that is used is equipped with 1000 W halogen spot light as source of heat. Adsorber that used is made of stainless steel that is meant to be resistant with corrosive nature because of the variation of refrigerant that is used and that the surface area of this absorbent is 0,07 m2 . The thing which influence the cycle of adsorption of a cooling machine is temperature, (Tadsorbant), volume, and pressure. While variations exist 4 refrigerant used is methanol, ethanol, ammonia and Musicool. Obtained the optimum refrigerant adsorption-desorption process is methanol. Capacity that can be adsorbed methanol and desorption by activated alumina adsorbent is 320 mL.en_US
