dc.description.abstractNational identity is as individual knowledge where a person feels as part of a group member who has the same emotions and values. The number of samples in this study were 100 respondents. Sampling was carried out using a non-probability sampling technique with the accidental sampling method. The data obtained in this study were processed by descriptive analysis. The measuring tool is in the form of a questionnaire from the national identity scale, which was compiled based on the theory put forward by Blank and Schmitd (2003). The results of the study show that the description of national identity in marginalized communities in Medan city is categorized as high with a frequency score of 86 (86%). Based on the aspect of national identity, namely self-categorization with a high category of 68 (68%), group self esteem aspects with a high category of 85 (85%), on the affective component aspect with a frequency score of 87 (87%). Based on primordial aspect, Javanese tribe dominates in the high category, reached 33 (33%). Based on sacred aspect, Islam is in medium category, with a frequency score of 85 (85%) and other religions are in the high category. The data obtained have proven that national identity in marginalized communities in Medan city gets results in the high category.en_US
