dc.description.abstractThe rapid development of information technology due to globalization is the main factor causing the great public enthusiasm for the Korean Wave in Indonesia. Lately it has been happening more and more in the younger generation, including early adulthood. Many early adults experience obstacles in adjusting to the new roles they have, so they can experience problems. When someone has a problem, it is necessary to make efforts to overcome the problem which is called coping. Based on the phenomenon, Korean Wave fans tend to use Korean Wave as coping stress. This study aims to describe coping strategies in early adulthood women who are fans of Korean Wave. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Measuring tool used in the form (Folkman, Lazarus, Schetter, DeLongis, & Gruen, 1986) of a questionnaire with a scale of ways of coping of as many as 50 items. This research involved 255 young adult women who are fans of Korean Wave throughout Indonesia. The results showed that the stress coping strategy that was more widely used was emotion focused coping as many as 139 people (54.5%) while for problem focused coping there were 68 people (26.7%) and 48 people (18.8%) who were not classifieden_US
