dc.description.abstract | Every human being must have experienced various kinds of emotions in his life.
This study aims to identify the types of emotions that the main character goes
through and describe the way the main character controls emotions in the
Chinese Fighting Man film by Zhang Wumao which was released on December 10,
2020. The main character in the film is a father named (李安全)Lǐ Anaquán
who has to feel various kinds of emotions due to the many problems that come in
his life that affect his emotional state. This study uses the theory of Daniel
Goleman about emotional intelligence with the theoretical foundation of literary
psychology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by using
literature studies in collecting data. Based on the Chinese Fighting Man film
research on the types of the main character obtained feelings of anger appear 6
times, feelings of sadness appear 6 times, feelings of fear appear 4 times, feelings
of pleasure appear 9 times, feelings of love appear 2 times, feelings of surprise
appear 4 times, feelings of annoyance appear 2 times and feelings of shame
appear 1 time. The attitude of the main character controls his emotions by being
patient appears 2 times, calm appears 2 times, enthusiasm appears 4 times,
hardworking appears 2 times, friendly appears 2 times, honest appears 1 time,
social spirited appears 2 times, and responsible appears 2 times. Based on the
analysis of the types of emotions experienced by the main character in the film
Chinese Fighting Man, the results of the study were as follows: based on the types
of emotions, the total emotions felt by the main character as many as 34 emotions.
The emotion of pleasure is the feeling that occurs the most with the number 9 and
the emotion of shame is the feeling that occurs the least with the number 1. In the
overall emotional control occurred as many as 17 times. The emotion of passion
is the feeling that appears the most with the number 4 and the Honest Emotion is
