dc.description.abstractThe title of the thesis is " Nominalization in Arabic". This thesis deals with morfological sub system, especially affixation process informing noun from verb, adjective and noun itself. The objective of the research is to discribe the word formation in Arabic language by adding affixes to the form of verb base, adjective as well as noun base to find out gramatical meaning produced by the affixation process. Framework applied is based on Bauer and Mathews' s theories. The research uses descriptive method with a goal to make the description of the ac data accurately. The result indicates that the Arabic nominalisation is formed through afixation process applied to the verb, adjective and noun, base Afixation process applied to the verb includes prefixation, infixation and confixation. Afixation on adjective covers prefixation and infixation, while afixation on noun is confixation. Gramatical meaning produced by afixation process in Arabic language has various meaning and the same meaning can also be produced by different affixes.en_US
