Rancang Bangun dan Uji Eksperimental Pengaruh Variasi Panjang Driven Pipe dan Diameter Air Chamber terhadap Efisiensi Pompa Hidram
Abstract
Water is a source of life for living things. Place that far away for the water
sources require pumps to move it. In general, centrifugal pumps are used to it, but
these pumps require electricity or fuel to operate, and electrical energy or fuel, it
can sometimes be an obstacle. The hydraulic ram pump is the solution of this
problem because it doesn't use electricity or fuel, can operate 24 hours, it's cheap
and easy to made. This research is done to know influence variation long driven
pipe and diameter of air chamber against efficiency of hydraulic ram pump. The
hydraulic ram pump used on this experiment has 1,5 inch inlet pipe and 0,5 inch
outlet pipe. The variations of the driven pipe are 8 m , 10 m , and 12 m. The
variations of the diameter of air chamber are 3 inch and 4 inch. The result shows
that the maximum efficiency obtained at variations long driven pipe 8 m and
diameter air chamber 3 inch, is equal to 37%.
