Gereja Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni Sebagai Destinasi Wisata Kota Medan Tahun 2005-2017

Abstract

This research discusses the history of the establishment of Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni Church and its potential as a tourist destination. This is because the building is related to religious aspects and has a role as a tourist destination. The purpose of this study is to reveal about the role of religious buildings in contributing to tourism in an area. This study uses historical research methods that emphasize human, space and time aspects. The method begins with the heuristic stage or data collection from sources related to the research theme such as interviews with informants, journals or books, website references. Then the Verification stage, continued to the Interpretation and Historiography stage, namely the writing of scientific papers based on objective data that had been obtained according to the rules of historical science. The results of this study are that objects including buildings that function as places of worship or religion and also have an important role to support tourism if managed properly.
