dc.description.abstract | This study aims to describe the ornaments found in the Puri Malay Sri Menanti traditional house, which consists of the shape of the ornament, its function and its meaning. This research is qualitative with a descriptive method while the methods used in collecting data are observation and interview methods. The data in this study are the Puri Melayu Sri Menanti traditional house and written data in the form of sentences containing semiotics. The data analysis technique in this study is that all data sourced from the literature and the field are collected into one by the author. The data is arranged and classified based on the concepts that have been determined by the author. conclusions from the data analyzed and provide input suggestions. The theory used is Semiotics developed by Charles Sanders Pierce, namely by analyzing the form of ornaments as well as their functions and meanings. The conclusion from the analysis in the Puri Sri Menanti Malay traditional house there are 2 plant ornaments, 1 animal ornament and 4 geometric ornaments. The most common ornaments found at Puri Sri Menanti are geometric-shaped ornaments which can be found at the top of the windows on the right and left sides, the front of the Puri courtyard on the right and left sides, and on each under the window there is a violin trellis ornament and also on the right side. and left of the stairs when entering Puri Sri Menanti. | en_US |
