    Abstract
Dental and oral health maintenance is an effort to improve health, especially in the school-age group that needs attention. The teacher who is one of the educators plays a role in providing knowledge and carrying out promotive and preventive actions. This study aims to determine the percentage of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of dental and oral health maintenance. The population in this study were all physical teachers in this district, totaling 532 physical teachers from all schools. In this study, the samples obtained were 94 teachers. The results showed that 55.3% of the physical teachers did not know about when the child's permanent first molars erupt, 63.8% of the physical teachers did not know about the frequency of visits to the dentist. Then as much as 42.6% of the physical teachers did not know about the toothbrush that should be used is a toothbrush with soft bristles, 40.4% of the physical teachers did not know about the number of baby teeth in children which is 20 teeth. As many as 33% of physical teachers don't know about the frequency of brushing their teeth twice a day, 38.3% of physical teachers don't know about when to replace toothbrushes. As much as 84% of physical teachers agree that cavities do not need to be filled in baby teeth because they will be replaced with permanent teeth, 71.3% of physical teachers agree that teachers need to provide education to students about dental and oral health, 63.8% of physical teachers agree regarding the teacher needs to teach students how to brush their teeth properly and correctly. As many as 67% of physical teachers have taught children how to brush their teeth properly and correctly, 68.1% of physical teachers have never brushed their teeth together at school, 64.9% of physical teachers have never received training on dental and oral health knowledge. It can be concluded that the physical teacher does not have sufficient knowledge about dental and oral health maintenance, so that their attitudes and behavior regarding dental and oral health maintenance are lacking.
