Peran P3UD dalam Program Pengembangan Masyarakat: Kasus Pengembangan UMKM di Deli Serdang

Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze the role played by P3UD (Pusat Pengembangan Produk Unggulan Daerah) Deli Serdang in developing local UMKM and what forms of participation and collaboration of UMKM in running the P3UD Deli Serdang program and how social capital is in developing UMKM at P3UD Deli Serdang. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of several informants from the P3UD Deli Serdang and its UMKM partners. The results of the study show that P3UD Deli Serdang has a role in providing guidance and consultation, providing licensing assistance, encouraging innovation and product development, assisting with marketing, and building cooperation. Forms of UMKM participation in running the P3UD Deli Serdang program include participating in training and exhibition activities, submitting requests for assistance. Provide input and suggestions. The forms of collaboration that exist are collaboration between P3UD Deli Serdang and UMKM, collaboration between UMKM and other UMKM, and collaboration between P3UD Deli Serdang and other parties in the development process. Social capital in developing UMKM at P3UD Deli Serdang includes social networks, trust, and norms. Based on the results of observations and interviews with informants, the researchers found that the role carried out by P3UD Deli Serdang in the UMKM development process had gone well. It's just that the participation of UMKM in product development is not entirely running because several programs have stopped due to Covid-19. The forms of collaboration that have been carried out at P3UD Deli Serdang have been going well, but some of them have not been optimal. In addition, the social capital contained in P3UD Deli Serdang has also been running in the UMKM development process.
