The aim of the research is to describe the condition of internal factors, external factors,
and entrepreneurial success and to analyze the influence of internal factors and external
factors on entrepreneurial success. Another goal is to formulate a strategy for developing
young agricultural entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region. Data was collected using a Likert
scale structured questionnaire with a total of 230 respondents who were distributed via
google form and direct interviews with young agricultural entrepreneurs receiving the
Agricultural Young Entrepreneur Development Program (PWMP) in the Sumatra region.
Sampling using non-probability sampling method with the type of accidental sampling,
with consideration of a homogeneous population. Data analysis techniques used
descriptive analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis, and SWOT analysis.
The results of the study: 1) the condition of the internal factors of young agricultural
entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region is in the "good" category; 2) the condition of the
external factors of young agricultural entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region is in the
"adequate" category; 3) the conditions for the success of young agricultural entrepreneurs
in the Sumatra region are in the "sufficient" category; 4) internal factors significantly
influence the success of young agricultural entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region; 5)
external factors significantly influence the success of young agricultural entrepreneurs in
the Sumatra region; and 6) the formulation of a diversification strategy in the
development of young agricultural entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region is as follows:
attend training on digitalization of information technology and marketing; creating a more
attractive business environment based on agro-education; creating personal branding and
product branding; increasing the intensity of exhibitions and workshops; attending
seminars and training on risk management and control efforts; and create the latest
creative ideas and innovations with the latest ideas.
