CV. CK is a manufacturing company engaged in the candle industry. The problem
faced by the company is that there is waste such as waiting time that is too large in its production activities so that it can result in unfulfilled market demand. The purpose of this research is to identify and eliminate non value added activities in production activities using the Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping
methods and provide suggestions for improvements using the Fault Tree Analysis method. Based on the results of observations and measurements in CV. CK there are 20 activities with non value added time of 170.62 minutes, manufacturing lead
time of 931.50 minutes, process cycle efficiency rate of 81.06% and process velocity
of 0.0321 processes/hour. Then elimination was carried out on 3 non-value added activities and obtained improvement results by reducing activities to 17 activities, non value added time to 0.00 minutes, manufacturing lead time to 760.88 minutes, process cycle efficiency increased to 99.23% and process velocity decreased to 0.0271 process/hour. After the repairs were made, there was an increase in the amount of production per month from 1920 fruit/month to 2,271.78 fruit/month.
Based on the results of the analysis using Fault Tree Analysis, the suggestions for improvement that can be given are to carry out routine supervision of operators, replace simple equipment with more efficient machines and make routine maintenance and cleaning schedules, create and define work procedures.
