Surfactant Sodium lignosulfonate is a type of anionic surfactant which has
water soluble properties. Sodium lignosulfonate is widely used in various industries
such as dispersing agents in particle dispersion systems (gypsum paste and cement
paste). The production process used in the design of the sodium lignosulfonate
surfactant plant from rice husk is a delignification process with NaOH and a
sulfonation process with NaHSO3 with a NaOH catalyst..
Preliminary plant design production of surfactant sodium lignosulfonate
from rice husk with a production capacity of 30,000 tons/year will be established
in Tagor Baru, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra with a total
factory area of 20,095 m2. The raw material in the form of rice husk is obtained
from a rice factory located in the Deli Serdang area around. The factory is designed
to operate for 330 days a year. The planned company organization form is a Limited
Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational structure, and a total
of 180 employees.
The results of the economic analysis on this factory design are as follows:
1. Capital Invesment (CI) = Rp 849.556.485.502,-
2. Total Cost (TC) = Rp 750.971.873.409,-
3. Profit Margin (PM) = 32,18%
4. Break Even Point (BEP) = 26,34%
5. Return on Investment (ROI) = 29,68%
6. Return On Network (RON) = 49,47%
7. Pay Out Time (POT) = 3 year 4 month
8. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 37,85%
Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that this
Plant for the manufacture of surfactant sodium lignosulfonate surfactant from rice
husk is feasible to establish.
