Gambaran Kualitas Radiograf Periapikal Digital Teknik Bisecting di Instalasi Radiologi Kedokteran Gigi Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut Universitas Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Radiographic examination is often used in dentistry to assist clinicians in making a diagnosis, periapical abnormalities, determining treatment plans and post-treatment evaluation. Radiographic technique that is most frequently used at the Dental and Oral Hospital of the Universitas Sumatera Utara is the intraoral periapical bisecting technique. The objective of this research is to determine quality of digital periapical radiographs the bisecting technique at the Dental Radiology Installation at the Dental and Oral Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara. It employs descriptive research methodology with simple random sampling and takes 150 radiographs in the Dentistry Radiology Installation at USU General Hospital as its sample regardless of the purpose of each radiograph. The data are analyzed by descriptive test test and calculated in the form of frequency and percentage tables. The research results regarding quality criteria obtained good contrast of 100%, complete objects of 80%, good sharpness of 80%, distinguishable details of 92% and no distortion of 47%. The conclusion is that quality of digital periapical radiographs with the bisecting technique at the Dental Radiology Installation of Universitas Sumatera Utara is at rating 1 namely excellent at 38%, rating 2 diagnostically acceptable at 51% and rating 3 unacceptable at 11%.
