Eksplorasi Jenis – Jenis Pakan Lebah Apis cerana dan Produksi Madu di Kawasan Penyangga Hutan Huta Godang Muda Taman Nasional Batang Gadis

Abstract

Batang Gadis National Park is one of the conservation areas in Indonesia which is located in North Sumatra. In one of the villages within the Batang Gadis National Park namely the village of Huta Godang Muda there is a honey bee cultivation area. Honey bee cultivation is a strategy for utilizing forests as well as for increasing the productivity of crops, plantations and horticulture besides having economic prospects as well as being environmentally friendly and improving the community's economy. The goal to be achieved from this research is to obtain data on the types of bee feed. As well as knowing the calendar of flowering and honey production in the beekeeping village of Huta Godang Muda Batang Gadis National Park. The research method was carried out in 3 stages namely identifying the type of feed for Apis cerana honey bees by observing the plants that bees land on, taking coordinates to determine the distribution of types of feed interviews to find out the flowering calendar and honey production. The results of the research in Huta Godang Muda Village found types of apis Apis cerana bee feed consisting of 9 types of forestry plant vegetation, 23 types of agricultural / plantation plant vegetation, and 7 types of ornamental plant plants. In the research location the main flowering season is from February to April which occurs after the natural leaf fall. The results of honey production at the research location are obtained every two months with the yield of 2 kg per harvest.
