Pemanfaatan Cesium – 137 Sebagai Sumber Standar Kalibrasi pada Alat Ukur Radiasi Pen Dosimeter Type DMC 3000 Sn. 01A0734C
Abstract
Utilization ionizing radiation was contained in Government Regulation of the
Republic of Indonesia No. 33 of 2007 concerning the safety and security provisions
for the used of ionizing radiation refers to the provisions of the International Atomic
Energy Agency (IAEA) and those issued by the International Commission on
Radiological Protection. Government regulations regulated radiation safety for
workers, the public, the environment as well as the safety of radioactive sources and
inspectors in the use of nuclear power. The use of ionizing radiation sources for the
purpose of radiation protection was required to measure the ionizing radiation.
Radiation measuring instruments must be calibrated against reference measuring
instruments traceable to the National Standard Laboratory in accordance with the
amount of radiation being measured. One of the health instruments that needs to be
calibrated was a pen dosimeter, it was a personal radiation protection measuring
instrument used by radiation workers in radiology installations in hospitals.
Radiation Measuring Instrument Calibration (AUR) has been carried out at the
Health Facilities Security Agency, Medan. The calibration method used was the
substitution method, the detector was irradiated in the gamma radiation field Cs –
137. Determination of calibration factor values and uncertainty to digital dosimeters
used the Cesium standard – 137. In calibration, there was a standard deviation of
obtained of 2,022% and a calibration factor of 1,02 μGy. An obtained measured dose
and the dose read with a dose rate of 71.878114 μGy and an uncertainty value of
9.65% μGy. So that the digital dosimeter pen was good to use because it had a
calibration factor value according to predetermined standards.
