Test of several feed sources on the
delevopment and growth of Hermetia illucens larvae. Mentored by
Ameilia Zuliyanti Siregar, dan Darma Bakti. The Black Soldier Fly (H. illucens) is
an insect that is useful for reducing organic waste. This study aims to determine
the effect of market waste: fruit, vegetables, agricultural waste: grated coconut
dregs, coffee grounds, food waste: tofu dregs, corncob dregs, on the development
and growth of Hermetia illucens larvae. This research was conducted at the
location of Maggot Medan Teratai (MMT) Jalan Bunga Teratai No.9, Padang
Bulan Selayang II, Kec. Medan Selayang, Medan, North Sumatra at an altitude of
± 25 meters above sea level from December to April 2022. This study used a non factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments, namely P1:
Fruit, P2: Vegetables, P3: Dregs Grated Coconut, P4: Coffee Powder Dregs, P5:
Tofu Dregs and P 6: Corn Cob Dregs. The results showed that tofu dregs were the
best for weight, length and width of H.illucens larvae.
