dc.description.abstractMethanolysis of castor oil produce of fatty acid methyl ester castor oil. Methyl ricinoleic as main composition in castrol oil could be acetylated with acetic acid anhydride give 12-acetoxy 9-octadecenoate, which then purified with column chromatography using eluent mixture of petroleum ether and diethyl ether (19: 1 v/v), yield percent is 71,0% Interesterification 12-acetoxy 9-octadecenoate with methyl laurate at 65°C using catalyst NaOCH3 in dry methanol at reflux condition for 6-8 hours yield 68.7% of 12-dodecanoiloxy 9-octadecenoate. Amidation 12-dodecanoiloxy 9-octadecenoate with glutamic acid at 80°C in vacum condition yield 54.3% of 2-N-(pentanadioate)-(12-(dodecanoiloxy) octadeca-9-enamide], with melting point 104- 108°C and HLB was 3.45. Each reaction product was confirmed with FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy.en_US
