dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to find out the irifluence of the level of emotional intelligence and attitude towards organizational cultutre on the performance of employees, either simultaneously or partially, directly or through altruistic behavior. For that purpose, this study was confirmed to 128 employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan in their capacity as respondents. The data obtainerd were analyzed through the methods of descriptive statistic analysis and inferential statistic analysis such as classic assumption test, structured linear regression tests, determination coejJicieent analysis (R2 ), Simultaneous test (F test), partial test (t test) and path analysis which was then trasformed into the decomposition table. Based on the the result of analysis and discussion done, the consclusion is: (1) Simultaneously, the level of emotional intelligence and attitude towards organizational culture had influence on the performance of the employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan; (2) simultaneously, the level of emotional intelligence and attitude towards organizational culture had influence on the altruistic behavior of the employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan; (3) partially, the level of emotional intelligence and attitude towards organizational culture had direct negative significant influence on the performance of the employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan,' (4) partially, the level of emotional intelligence and attitude towards organizational culture had direct positive significant influence on the altruistic behavior of the employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan; (5) partially, altruistic behavior had direct positive significant influence on the performance of the employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan; and (6) the level of emotional intelligence and attitude towards organizational culture had influence on the performance of the employees of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia I Belawan through altruistic behavior.en_US
