The existence of remote sensing technology using Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles (UAV) can facilitate the identification of land use in coastal areas, one of
which is Sebrang Fisherman Village located in Medan Belawan District, Medan
City. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are known to be efficient in mangrove
mapping and monitoring due to their spectral and spatial characteristics that can
be detected easily. This is in accordance with the location of Sebrang Fisherman
Village, where most of the land use is mangrove forest. This research aims to
identify the type of land use in Sebrang Fishermen Village using Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and to find out the activities of the community in Sebrang
Fishermen Village, Belawan Medan City. The method used in this research is the
processing of aerial photographs that produce orthomosaic for land use
identification through visual interpretation method or on screen digitization, to
get the accuracy results of Ground Control Point (GCP) and Independent Control
Point (ICP) obtained through Geometric accuracy test Root Mean Squar Error
(RMSE), and descriptive field observations. The results showed that the
processing of aerial photographs produced a spatial resolution (ground sampling
distance/GSD) of 2.84 cm/pixel, the number of aerial photographs connected
(aligned) was 800 photos, the Root Mean Squar Error (RMSE) value was 0.199
meters and the CE09 value (90% horizontal accuracy) obtained was 0.303
meters. There are 17 types of land use in Sebrang Fishermen Village, namely
Mosque, Musholla, Elementary School (SD), Kindergarten (TK), Early Childhood
Education (PAUD), Pondok Baca, Posyandu, Settlement, Badminton Field,
Playing Field, Gymnastic Field, Mangrove Forest, Dock, Public Cemetery, Water
Body, Cast / Cement Road, and Cages with a land area of 20 ha. Community
activities in Sebrang Fishermen Village still depend on the mangrove forest
ecosystem, such as catching shrimp and crabs, fishing, raising fish in cages, and
becoming a tour guide.
