Cold-Formed Channel or C profile that made from thin galvanized steel are
widely introduced and used as a substitude material for trusses instead of wood. The
structural behavior and the compression strength of these material are depand on the
distance between the shear center and the centroid , if the distance between the shear
center and the centroid is not coincide , the channel will buckle by torsional - flexural
buckling if axial compresion force is applied.
Experimental tests to get the critical load caused by the axial compression force,
there are 3 (three) single profile C - 75 x 35 x 10 x 0,75 Aluzink and 3 (three) trusses
are tested by giving the axial compression force in order to get the critical load and the
maksimum deflection of the trusses.
The result from the experimental tests are valedated by the AISI ( American Iron
And Steel Institute ) and LRFD ( Load and Resistance Factor Design ) specifications.
And the maksimum deflection result from experimental tests are compared by the
teoritical stiffness matric analysis.
