Gambaran Kepribadian Dark Triad pada Narapidana Tindak Pidana Korupsi di Lapas Kelas I Tanjung Gusta Medan

Abstract

This study aims to know the Dark Triad personality among corruption offenders in LAPAS Kelas 1 Tanjung Gusta Medan. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method, a method that emphasizes numerical data which are analyzed using a descriptive method. The instrument used is the Dark Triad Personality Scale by Hasanati & Istiqomah (2018). Participants in this study amounted to 40 corruption offenders in LAPAS Kelas 1 Tanjung Gusta Medan. The results of this study indicate that (1) most of the participants have a high level of Dark Triad personality (2) most of the participants have a high level of Machiavellianism (3) most of the participants have relatively high level of Narcissism, and (4) most of the participants have relatively low level of psychopathy. The desire to build a reputation and the sense of entitlement to recognition from others may influence the corruption behavior of the subjects in this study. It is hoped that the LAPAS Kelas 1 Tanjung Gusta Medan can develop a rehabilitation program pertaining to the personality tendencies of corruption offenders. Further research is expected to be conducted using a larger sample size to obtain more comprehensive results.
